A little to the north, not far from the city of Antalya, there are fields of lavender.
In my hometown of Kiev, where one hour of a photo shoot in a lavender field cost $20-30, photographers were buying up all the time they could within hours of the announcement of the lavender blossom forecast. Usually, I purchased spaces for a set period at my discretion and then resell that time to my clients. Otherwise, it would have been impossible to sign up for a photo shoot.
How much does a photo shoot in lavender cost?
In my hometown of Kiev, where one hour of a photo shoot in a lavender field cost $20-30, photographers were buying up all the time they could within hours of the announcement of the lavender blossom forecast. I usually bought seats on my own time and then resold that time to my clients. Otherwise, it would have been impossible to sign up for a photo shoot.
But it’s not like that in Antalya. There are many fields here and they are all free for photo shoots. The main thing is to come.
The “lavender moguls” will be happy to see you, as you can enjoy a tasty meal or buy some lavender products from them here. And, although all of this is completely optional, I personally could never resist and not bring back at least a small lavender souvenir. Especially since their products are of high quality.
It should be understood that the owners of the fields are not traders, but ordinary farmers, who are engaged in the processing of lavender. They collect lavender and take it to various plants for recycling. The factories partially return lavender to them in the form of products: oils, creams, fragrances, etc.
Where are the lavender fields?
The lavender fields for photo shoots are located north of Antalya, near the town of Isparta (that’s right, not Isparta, but Isparta).
There are different villages with different farmers growing lavender (as well as irises and roses). The most famous lavender villages are:
- Kuyudjak
- Yeshilyurt
- Chukuryonen
- Kushchular
It is said that in the village of Kujujak alone, about 90 locals are engaged in the cultivation of lavender.
Also, lavender is available in other regions of Turkey. There are fields and a 30-minute drive from the city of Antalya. However, I frankly do not recommend these fields. The best lavender blooms only in Ysparta!
How to get to the lavender fields?
If you have your own car and your own travel schedule, you can get there on your own. I’m sending you a point on a map that you can easily navigate to.
But if you don’t have a car, I can arrange a minibus transfer for you when several people gather for lavender.
However, you don’t always have the opportunity to join a group. So we can go in my car.
Of course, the minibus option is preferable. It turns out to be cheaper, more fun, and the photographer doesn’t get as tired before the shoot 😉 Some people stay friends for a long time after such a trip!
Where to rent a dress for a lavender photo shoot?
We rent dresses for photoshoots from specialized rental companies. With lavender Purple, yellow dresses go well together. Brunettes may also be interested in white dresses.
Dress rentals are available in Antalya, usually we choose a beautiful plume or other dress before the photo shoot and take it with us to Yspartu. One day after the photo shoot, the dress is handed over to the rental company.
But you don’t have to worry about that, because I’m organizing a turnkey photo shoot.
