It turned out that photo shoots at the ruins of the ancient city of Perge are popular. It is also important that the ruins are very close, in the northeast of Aksu, which is part of the city of Antalya.
History of the ancient city of Perge
The city of Perge (or Perga) was founded a long time ago. Officially around 1000 B.C. Although, modern research and excavations indicate that there has been a permanent settlement there since at least 3000 BC. And the most ancient finds in Perga date back to the 5th millennium BC.
The most famous native of the city is the mathematician and geometer Apollonius of Perga.
In some periods the city prospered. However, it began to fade after the Kestr River silted up during the Byzantine era. The city was without water and by the ninth century A.D. had virtually ceased to exist.
Perge today
Perge began to be excavated beginning in 1946 and continuing to the present day (article written July 30, 2022). However, so far, most of the city is buried under the ground! It remains to be explored by our descendants for a long time to come.
In Perga, you will see archaeologists gradually laying out and sorting out the elements they found. Over time, each element is identified, and scientists try to understand where its original location was and what its function was.
In the photo you can see how well the columns have survived through the millennia. Also, we see that the archaeologists are very successful in putting them out there to create a rhythm for our photo shoot.
Photo shoots in Perga
Today Perge, for me, is a uniquely beautiful place for photo shoots.
There are columns and a huge amphitheater, and other elements of ancient architecture, which look very well in the photo.
For a photo shoot in Perga, we usually take some unusual dresses.
It’s best if we do your hair and makeup before the photo shoot. For this, we will have a professional makeup stylist with us.
In Antalya, in addition to Perge, there are other ancient cities: Termessos, Antioch of Pisidia, etc. In general, there are a lot of them in Turkey.
